For His Glory
*covers face*
I'm so sorryyyyy, please forgive me
*sobbing* pls na, this eye you're giving me is not good o.
I know my apologies every time is beginning to be a chorus but I'm extremely sorry. It's not as if I've not had ideas to write on. I even have many unfinished posts but well...
Wait o...let me even clean the cobwebs here first...
***squish squahs, squish squash***
Ehen! That's more like it.
Now, to the gist. I recently joined a Youth Bible Study Family called The Lighters. Notice, I said family not group because we are actually a family and I'm using that word because it amazes how we pour out our problems and share them, encourage and pray for each other without judging. Anyone would pay for that!
So, I've been learning a lot from my family and one of the numerous lessons birthed this post. It just dropped in my mind: is it for My glory?
Then I started thinking and then... Gbam! It made a whole lot of sense.
When you decided to explain certain bible verses to your friend, was it to glorify God or actually, for your friend to say in his or her mind: 'Heeee! Tosin know Bible o, see how she's dissecting it for me like rat during Biology practical! "
Sometimes, you might discover that we get jealous of that person in your church that can explain Sunday or sabbath school better than you. Sweetie, you might not even know you're jealous cuz jealousy doesn't have its own emotion; it calls Brother anger, uncle fear and Aunty disgust plus elder depression. They come together and form jealousy. You just find out that when he or she is talking and people say, 'wow! Sister Philomena, that was a wonderful one! I celebrate you', you become angry. If I can ask you, please, joor, biko *insert any other langusge you know*, why are you angry? Why are you sweating inside AC because someone complimented Sis Philo? Answer it.
Beht em, you know something? The Lord is our shepherd and we are the sheep of His pasture. All we know how to do is eat, follow and misbehave, get rescued by the shepherd and the cycle continues.
If you mistakenly, by mistake, o seesi ( in Yoruba), find yourself getting angry just because someone has or does something better than you, TALK TO GOD! It's in capitals cuz it's important. God has seen it already, don't hide! Like pidgin English puts it: even if afraid cattch you, abeg talk to your paale wey dey heaven. Pour it at His feet, and watch, you'll feel renewed. In fact, identifying that you're jealous is a beautiful step because most people don't even know that they are.
Now, I also think you should walk up to that person and compliment him or her, or what do you think? Please let me know in the comment section below.
Area of Concentration: AOC (see as your shine, you think it's exam expo I want to give you? Shioor! Lol)
Before you do anything, ask yourself: is it for His glory or for self exaltation???
I'll tell you more about The Lighters in a later post!
Before I go, I'd like you to google search and download the song: For Your Glory by Tasha Cobbs:
For Your Glory,
I will do anything,
Just to see You,
To behold You as my King...
I wanna be where You are.
If you need to contact me, advice or you just wanna talk, kindly send an email to ooluwatosinolaniyi@gmail.com
God bless y'all,
Till my next post,
