WHO ARE YOU???

                            WHO ARE YOU?
You ever heard ‘bout Dr. Seuss? He once said, ‘today you are you, that is truer than true, there is no one alive who is youer than you.’ Was he just playing with words? Hell no!
You are who you are because God deposited something in you. However, what you do with what is given to you is what matters. Let’s do some maths, shall we?
If 2+2=4, then a good voice + charisma should equal a great singer, but you must remember to subtract pride and add God or what you end up singing is, ‘wafe ku l’ale yii aaah’. Have you heard that song? Yee, you’re missing, it actually means, ‘you’ll almost die tonight!’  I know a number of people who cruise into dance steps when this song comes into hearing.
When I was younger, I had the habit of always writing almost all the time. When I say writing, I don’t mean novels. I mean I just scribbled. Could be watching TV now and just see the name, ‘Noelle’, and i would write the word, re-spell it, in different handwritings and so on. My mum would look at me and say, ‘ó tun ti beere’, meaning, ‘she has started again’. I’d just smile at her and she’d smile back. Technically, to any person watching, it seemed like madness-always writing and writing nonsense.
Years later, I’m a beautiful writer and a few days back, while watching the movie, ‘RUBY SPARKS’ (you should see that movie), I’ve learnt something: A writer is a breath giver. A writer gives breath to beautiful people, usually unknowingly. There’s nothing like an overactive imagination; it’s all a gift from God and I’m happy I am a BreathGiver.
This is overflogged but am sure we’ve all heard that God deposited something special in all of us. Nevertheless, some of us have been blessed with more than one gift. I write, I sing, I dance and I can talk to people in ways they can understand. I’m not lucky, I’m blessed.
Now, knowing who you are all starts with a self examination. What is that thing that you love to do? What is that thing you do effortlessly when others are finding it difficult to do?
Having noted these, ask yourself, what positive thing can I do with these that I have discovered? Why positive, you might ask? Positive, because nothing negative yields a good result except God put you in that situation to teach you a lesson and not you, walking into negativity yourself.
I know a lot of people who have channelled their gifts to doing positive things and are awesome people. Using your gift positively doesn’t make you any less cooler, hotter or awesome.
So, to summarize, find what works for you and so it well. You’ll definitely be remembered for good. Trust me, you’d be amazed at how unique you are to the next person sitting right beside you.

Till my next post,
Stay Younique...
