LETTER TO GOD
Dear God, it’s hard to imagine what you look like. You know, as a kid I used to think of you as an old man with long white beards, wearing a white robe and a golden crown, but now I don’t even know what to imagine anymore, but I know you are alive and you are God alone.
Today, I’m writing this letter not for myself only but also for the whole of Nigeria. I remember as a child I used to think things would get better and Nigeria would be one of the great countries of the world, but it turns out things are getting worse. Then as kid, I would take #20 to school every day and it was more than enough, I remember spending 1kobo, 2kobo, 1okobo, 50kobo and 1naira and they could buy me plenty of small chops, but now we don’t even see them no more. The economy keeps getting worse, the poor keeps getting poorer and the rich get richer, people die of hunger every day in this country, more accidents on the highway due to the deplorable conditions of the road.
As if that was not enough, the Boko Haram sect came and have sent innocent souls to the great beyond, they desecrate your temple and make martyrs of your people. They have made thousands of children orphans, mothers lamenting and weeping for their children, and would not be comforted because they are not, people have been widowed and entire families wiped out. And the elders of our land are comfortably seated in their seats; they are swift in syphoning the nation’s wealth into their foreign accounts impoverishing the masses, they raise the proudest walls for themselves, forgetting the oaths they have made, they shut their bowels of compassion against the masses and the wailings of the people are nothing but music to their deafen ears.
God, as the big guy up there are you just going to seat in your throne with your arms folded and watch evil take over the surface of the earth? Are you going to stop it any sooner? Are you going to help the poor? Or do you even hear them crying at all? Is your heart not moved with compassion for the sufferings? Or have you turned your face away from our country?
I pray thee that I may live before thee forever.
Thanks for sharing, Ayo
Till our next post,
Stay Younique...
